$2400 by midnight personal goal

The Ride to Conquer Cancer has a few opportunities at different levels of fundraising for participants to get a $100 credited to their fund raising goals. I had looked at them when I first signed up to the ride. The first was to raise $100 by January 31 and get a $100 gift. The second was raise $1500 by March 31 and get $100 gift. The third is raising $2400 by April 30 and get one last $100 gifted to you. $2500 is the minimum you have to raise to complete the two day ride, so at that point your ride is sealed and secured.
Even though I only had 2 weeks from the time I signed up, I knew I could raise the $100 before the end of January. $100 would be easy. Those other goals were outrageous.
I put out the word and started collecting the same day I signed up to ride. I let everyone I talked to know about the $100 match. January rolled in to February and I had over $300 raised! That meant I’d made the first match and was getting another $100 added to my collections.
My husband works at Samtec and they get bonuses a couple times a year. One of which falls in February. He sent emails to his friends and coworkers letting them know about my ride and before I knew it I was looking at being close to $1000. Once I saw that I might actually be able to make the March match I couldn’t hold still. I put out word more places and more often, and thanks to all the generous donations I had hit the $1200 match mark before March had even ended!! So what came next?
$2400 by the end of April. Not happening. But thanks anyway. That was the idea in my head. I continued to raise money. My coworkers have continued to wear jeans on Fridays for a dollar and sell paper bicycle wheels. The doctors gave me their amazing donations. My brother gave me his amazing donation, and I shit you not I was looking at being just $300 away from hitting $2400 by the end of the first week of April. I put the word out hard core making sure EVERYONE knew how close I was and what it meant if I raised that last $300. More help and support started rolling in. I wanted that $300 in a big way. $300 became $200 by the 12th of April. And you know what that turned into? $0!!! On April 12th I raised $200 before midnight to get me to the point I needed to be at to get my final match and secure my two day ride!!! Right now I am sitting at $2457.73!!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!! Thank You!!!!!
